spectacle and butterfly valve

spectacle and butterfly valve was created by jhsunny09
I put a spectacle just after a butterfly valve, that is: flange-butterfly valve-spectacle-flange. I think it should be ok. Is there any one has a different opinion about this?

NO!!. It is NOT alright.
Yes the spec blind would normally be inserted in the "Closed" position when the valve is closed.
However, in the closed position the Spec Blind will prevent the Butterfly Valve from opening. And, if someone really tries to force the valve open then they could break the valve.

another question: have you seen a spectacle connect with an orifice directly? It looks wired....

sorry, the orifice is a flow element, not a restriction orifice.
