Please I need to know with proof from codes/standard/rule of thumb the maximum spool length from face of flange to face of flange of pipe that will be transported from fabrication yard to offshore site.
And in case where elbo is involve, will this maximum length be calculated from face of flange to center of elbo and to next face of flange?

It is really very simple.
Where is the Fab Shop and where is the Barge Loading Dock?
Where is the Barge unloading Dock and where is the jobsite?
If the Fab Shop is way inland then the truck criteria determined the maximum shipping size.
If the Fab Shop it located dock side then the Loading Crane criteria determines the shipping size.
If the jobsite is way inland then the truck criteria determined the maximum shipping size.
If the jobsite it located dock side then the Unloading Crane criteria determines the shipping size.
The normal Truck Shipping size is 8'-0" by 8'-0" by 40'-o" (or the metric equivalent)
The normal Barge Shipping size is 8'-0" by 8'-0" by 80'-o" (or the metric equivalent)
There is no normal Crane lifting size. It all depends on safety and prevention of damage to the piping
