One example: A horizontal accumulator that collects a hydrocarbon product (after a Stripper) that also contains water (condensate from prior steam treatment). The Drum (or vessel) will have a Boot at or near the suction end designed to trap and collect and remove this water. The water is normally 'Sour' (contains H2SO4) and needs to be removed from the product.
