Analyzer House safety distance requirement was created by Ajak Piper
Hi all,

What is the minimum safety distance requirement for Analyzer house located in a Petrochemical plant?
A table in GAP 2.5.2 shows that it is recommended to have around 15 to 30 m from Analyzer house to other equipment / facilities but in my case, due to process / licensor requirement, this distance can not be met.
The analyzer house has to be located nearer to the line where the sample will be taken and the distance is around 5 to 10m between a buffer drum and a structure for treaters handling ethylene in gas phase.
What is the mitigation plan if the recommended safety distance for this analyzer is not met?
Could anyone please kindly assist.
Thank you.

regards,
Ajak Piper.

Mitigation plan if acceptable to client may be on lines of additional fire protection methods such as fire break floors/walls, blast resistant walls, sprinklers and foam systems etc. This would have to be accepted by HSE/Loss Prevention or whoever is responsible for site safety.

Regards.

Mick.
