gpsvn,

I wanted to know about insulated joint ''monoblock'' this is used when you have cathodic protection in pipelines (using aluminum anode), here I leave an example: www.sypris.com/technology/content.asp?page_id=117

Insulated Joints electrically isolate sections of pipeline to prevent corrosion caused by stray electrical currents or interference from other pipelines and power transmission cables.

Will you please give more clues about what you want to know. Briefly, your pipeline is protected using Cathodic Protection (CP). I guess it's Impressed Current CP.

To avoid the lost of impressed current through piping and structural, there must be a mean of isolating the pipeline and any other conducting materials. And one of the good choice is monoblock.
