Buggernuts …Yes I’m “painfully” aware that that part of the world works with the metric system, dealing with a project now “over there”. But let me ask you something, isn’t the Imperial system based off the length of King Henry’s foot? We got this system from you! …AND you drop it for the metric system!?? …Isn’t that “traitorous”?? …Better watch out or I’ll tell the Queen! *L*

We're the guys (in the colonies) who built the PiperSuite program.. and when we decided to add metric "conversions" to the program, we soon realized that simple multiplication and division in powers of 10 was considerably easier than creating feet-inch functions...so, the actual "conversions" were the ones made in going from metric to imperial... not the other way around...(hhmmm...)

Mark... I work at CH2MHill (formerly VECO) as a principal piping designer, not to be confused with "principled piping designer" which I believe is a mythical creature who stays at the keyboard all day, raises his or her hand to use the bathroom, never eats doughnuts, never cruises the internet on company time, often wears a tie to work, asks educated questions at piping department meetings and believes that all shoppers will eventually be converted to company employees.... uuggh... what a nightmare!

Seriously though... CH2MHill is a great company with a great history and I love working with them.... creative work culture, jobs in Thailand, the Panama Canal restoration... they began as a one of the original "green" companies and have maintained their environmental friendliness through the years. You can check them out at www.ch2mhill.com

Hi Bob ...I didn't know CH2MHill had purchased Veco office there, when did that happen? I had worked contract will Anvil back in 2003 for about 4 months, before heading back to Bakersfield (long story)
I too am a "unprincipled piping designer" I work for a small outfit here in Bakersfield, it's called Ramsgate Engineers Inc. www.ramsgate.us/aboutus.htm
Its a pretty nice outfit, small but very aggressive. Our claim to fame is heavy oil production, mid-east has learned that the stuff they thought of as trash now brings in some $ so we are now selling heavy oil production tech. to them! Interesting!!! *L*
...SO I'm up at my trailer here in Maple Falls, how do you turn off the rain around here? *G* ...Mark
