Re-hydrotest for socket weld valve was created by darmao
Dear All,
I have with socket weld ball valves (below 1"). These valves supplied with the nipple and already tested. Finally we want add the nipple with slip on flange. I aware that after joint the flange onto the nipple, PT have to apply on the weld for final inspection. Now my question is shall we re-testing the valve because joint the flange by weld?
Many thank for share your view.

Normally I would say no. However you did not tell us the details needed to be sure.
- What is the Commodity?
- What is the Operating Pressure?
- What is the Operating Temperature?
- What is the Design Code?
- What kind of plant is this?

All these 1/2"~3/4" are used for drain valve in fuel gas package. The rating is 1500#. Service temperature is -20 to 300 deg.F. The design code is based on API 6D.
