I AM CURRENTLY EMPLOYED AS A PROJECT ENGINEER FOR A SMALL FABRICATION COMPANY. I STARTED OUT AS A TIME SERVED PIPEFITTER, AND MOVED INTO THE OFFICE SHORTLY AFTER. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY DESIRE TO BECOME A PIPING DESIGNER IN THE OIL INDUSTRY AND WANTED SOME IDEAS HOW TO GO ABOUT IT. IVE LOOKED INTO THE WOOD GROUP ETC AND THEY WILL BE TAKING ON TRAINEE PIPE DESIGNERS IN AUGUST. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND ANY OTHER GOOD COMPANIES TO MOVE TO?

There is a topic covering this in the Technical Forum:

Have a read through this, as it will give you an understanding of the road to be travelled in becoming a piping designer.
