Survey Advice

Hi,

I have undertaken a couple of offshore piping surveys, but I feel i would like to improve my surveying skills.

I was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips/hints/tricks that would be helpful in making me a better surveyor. Are there any tools that are helpful i may not of thought of?
