PiperSuite's latest version v3.6xp has a new, animated thermal expansion loop calculator... just enter piping material per ASME B31.3's Table C-1, ambient temperature, design temperature, nominal pipe size and the lengths between anchors and the expansion loop calculator will calculate the expansion loop length and width and thermal growths from each direction into the loop.

With this calculator, the designer gets a good feel for how many loops are required for long pipe rack runs, as well as, how much to adjust standard spacing to suit the calculated growths in loop nests. Great for preliminary piping design and layout!
