Creating Cooling Rings

Solution 1: It is not really easy for a new user of PDMS to create cooling Rings with PDMS, why not complete every other aspect of your drawing then export the drawing to autoCAD where you can combine poly-line command with free form command to create the ring. This is your best bet if you have a dead line. That was what I did the first time I encountered the same challenge.

This is how I do it now...
Solution 2: If you must use PDMS, then sketch out your cooling ring then divide it into sectors of different circles as much as is sufficient. Then create Sub-equipment while ensuring that your current element is the tank that owns the cooling ring. Define the SUBE origin, using the centre of gravity of the cooling ring. It's likely going to coincide with the center of the tank if the cooling ring goes all round the tank. Now use the Create Primitives menu, to add c-toruses to your SUBE using the data from the sectors of circles you have in your sketch. You will soon find out that a "curved pipe" is actually a combination of different c-toruses.

We just use 45 ELL's for most of our ring headers.

Creating it from "piping" vs. "equipment, sub-equipment" components and it makes your MTO somewhat easier too.

Reality is a trigger word and we're quickly losing touch...

if i'll use 45 ell the shape of created cooling ring doesn't show like a circle.i'm not new user in PDMS.In the same way i proceed ,also, when i come across with the cooling ring. Therefore I just ask about the possibility to create a circle cooling ring and in the same time the MTO must show us the right amount of pipe(the elbows doesn't appear in MTO).

hello, you can create a ring pipe with a special bend which is created in paragon with setting it's DATA set for it's radius, then add it in a piping spec and in design module you can create bend then modify it's radius as the radius of your ring, you will see the ring in your model.

Thanks

It is a cooling ring around a equipment....you should better use circular tauras premitive & make 2 x 180 deg circular touras remitives around the equipment.

we have succesfully done this before & as it is an equipment part....MTO will be detailed in the vendor drawing by Equipment engg.
