Anti sweat insulation vs IMO MODU code was created by dcongvt
Dear all!
I don't know it is right to post this topic in Code & Standard or in Technical.
We have an offshore project, ABS & asme B31.1 must be followed.
I chose materal for pipe Antisweat insulation is Elastomeric nitrile rubber. Pipe size 1" to 2", material copper and carbon steel, lagging is not neccessary, pipe routed in living quarter (non-hazadous area). My client comment: according to chapter 9.2.5 IMO MODU code: material is non-combustible type. I don't know if:
1. I don't find any statement in chapter 9.2.5 ?
2. Do I really change to another material ?
Additionnal info.: Insulation for living quarter shell is mineral wool and fiber glass.
I'm a new man in this field. Thanks!
