SIF for weld between tappered transition with Pipe

Hi,

i am been trying hard in getting clear about applying SIF for a weld between Pipe & Tappered Transition Pup peice. (Both with same OD & WT)

ASME b31.3, Appendix D give a formaula for calc. the SIF for Trappered transition. (Min. of Value : 1.3 to Max 1.9)

Does I need to apply 1.3 to the Weld in the Analysis software. For straight but weld pipe I know we could take SIF as 1. How about this Tappered transition case.

could anybody help me on this....

Also Secondly, I get confussed with this sentance " Girth weld has a SIF of 2 included in it", what does this mean...
