Need Suggestions | Piping Design Career & Course Selection was created by abanerjee.india
Hi Friends,
Let me introduce first, I am Anirban Banerjee, diploma mechanical engineer from Kolkata. I have had nearly 8+ yrs experience in CAD(3D) Field. I have worked in various types of mechanical projects. I had worked on AutoCAD 3D. Previously I was engaged in making 3D models of steel plants (structure/piping/equipments from 2d data with AutoCAD).
Now I have planned my career towards piping design field. I have decided to join PGDPDE course from MIT, Pune. But before that I am also thinking of doing a Crash Course on PDS. Can you suggest me best PDS training institute, anywhere in India? I am Planning to do PDS Course on May 2009 & PGDPDE Course on Dec 2009.
Please suggest in between PDMS/PDS/SP3D, which software has more job opening?
What do you think my decisions are ok or need to be rectified?
Please feel free to suggest.
I am waiting for your valuable comments and suggestions.
Thanking you,
With regards,
Anirban

You asked:
"Please suggest in between PDMS/PDS/SP3D, which software has more job opening?"
I recommend that you contact two or three of the company's you might want to work for in the future.
Ask them:
-What system they currently use?
-Do they give any kind of orientation instruction to a new employee?
You see, by the time you go to work for anyone company they may have changed systems, they may have more than one system and you would not be assigned to a system you are previously trained on.
However, the most important thing for you to study and learn real good is Piping Design. PDS or AutoCAD is a "Tool". It is like the hammer. "Just because you have a gold plated hammer it does not mean that you are a carpenter."
